This Cabernet MD is the crown jewel of the Thalvin winery in the Casablanca wine region. The winery has a long history in Morocco, having cultivated these beautiful grape varieties near the coast since 1923. The Casablanca wine region boasts a perfect climate for growing grape varieties. The maritime climate gives the harvest a unique maturation, with the fresh ocean breeze providing the necessary cooling. The vineyard soils, composed primarily of limestone, gravel, and sand, ensure good drainage, ensuring the vines receive sufficient moisture and nutrients from their deeply dug roots. All in all, a unique piece of craftsmanship with distinctive aromas and flavors.

This unique red wine, called Cabernet MD Excellence, uses Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes. All bunches come from the oldest and finest vineyards in Morocco. The unique soil composition and location of the vineyard result in a very full and ripe harvest. However, the yield of this top-notch wine is minimal. Harvesting takes place at ideal ripeness in the morning and is carried out entirely by hand. Each bunch is inspected during harvesting, resulting in a dramatic increase in purity. The plots are harvested, variety by variety, in small crates and transported to Thalvin.

Wood aging for the Cabernet MD Excellence Zenata

Cabernet MD Excellence Zenata Vin du Marc is a truly special wine from Morocco. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is partially aged in new French oak barrels for six months, resulting in a beautifully developed palette of aromas and flavors. The nose reveals beautiful aromas of vanilla, plums, cherries, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, this red wine is wonderfully full-bodied and powerful, with nuances of forest fruits, mocha, vanilla, and a light hint of chocolate. The finish is long, classic, and features fine tannins.
