This Pinot Noir is a dry red wine made from one of the oldest and most valuable grape varieties. The Pinot Noir grape became popular in Burgundy but has since also found a suitable climate in northern Bulgaria, with the positive influences of the Danube River. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, resulting in a complex wine with just the right amount of depth.

Hand harvest for Chateau Burgozone Pinot Noir

Château Burgozone's adventure began in 2000. The range consists of beautiful wines that perfectly reflect the Bulgarian terroir. The winery owns approximately 100 hectares situated on the slopes of the Danube River at an altitude of 150 to 180 meters. The soil consists of calcareous loess, which gives the grapes beautiful characteristics. The continental climate, which gives the vineyards warm days and cool nights, results in characterful wines with complex aromas. The Pinot Noir grapes come from Burgozone's own vineyards in Oryahovo. At peak ripeness, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand, sorted, and inspected on the sorting tables in the winery. Three different vinification methods are used in the cellar: a cold maceration before fermentation, a final fermentation at low temperatures, and a standard fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 9 to 12 months.

A lively Pinot Noir from Chateau Burgozone

The result is a lively and sparkling ruby-red wine. The aromas are complex with distinct notes of cherry, raspberry, plum, blackberry, and herbaceous notes of spice and chocolate. On the palate, it's a wine with ample volume, distinct notes of red and black fruit, complemented by spice and chocolate. The flavor is persistent and full-bodied. A perfect red wine to pair with salmon, duck, turkey, and roast meats.
