Vintage Report
2018 was an excellent year for Bordeaux with top scores of 94 points for the region. The wines are of outstanding quality but may currently still be a bit youthful and tannic.
France remains by far the leading wine country, although Italy, Spain, Argentina, and New Zealand are also producing fine wines these days. And the Bordeaux wines from France, in particular, are of unparalleled quality. This Bordeaux 100% Malbec from Château Minvielle is no exception.
The vineyards of Chateau Minvielle
In 2003, Château Minvielle's adventure began with its own vineyards near the banks of the Dordogne River. At the time, the area comprised 4.5 hectares of land planted with Merlot and old Cabernet Franc. With the help of family, they were able to expand the area by another 8 hectares. They began learning and experimenting, culminating in their first certified vintage in 2019. Olivier, who works passionately in the vineyards together with his wife Anna, practices entirely biodynamic practices, and their vinification techniques are revolutionary. The grapes are carefully cultivated and given ample time to develop optimally. Quality is paramount, as they demonstrate with this beautiful Bordeaux Malbec wine. The Malbec grapes for this red Bordeaux wine are planted in a sunny vineyard with clay-limestone soils. Thanks to the sun, the Malbec grapes receive enough warmth to develop properly. During the vinification process, the fruit aromas take center stage. The grapes are gently pressed after a few hours of maceration. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures to release the fruit aromas. Finally, the wine is aged for nine months in oak barrels to gain more complexity. The scent and taste of Chateau Minvielle Bordeaux
With a deep ruby red color, this wine from Château Minvielle sparkles in the glass. The aroma is intense, with red and black fruit flavors. A full-bodied wine with plenty of spice on the palate, and the fruity aromas are clearly evident here as well. A fruity Bordeaux wine with a delicate finish.Product details
