Louis Latour Bourgogne Rouge Chameroy 2022 Burgundy, France
Louis Latour Bourgogne Rouge Chameroy 2022 is a classic red Burgundy made from Pinot Noir, composed of grapes from the Côte Chalonnaise and the south of the Côte de Beaune. This origin gives the wine an accessible yet recognizably Burgundian style, with a delicate aroma, blackcurrant notes, and enough structure to develop additional depth in the bottle. Chameroy is ready to drink, but those who store it for another 1 or more years will experience greater development in aroma and taste.
Vineyards and region
Bourgogne Rouge Chameroy comes from two southern parts of Burgundy where Pinot Noir can produce a fruity and elegant style.
• Location / Origin: The grapes come from the Côte Chalonnaise and the south of the Côte de Beaune. This combination unites the refinement of Burgundy with a little more roundness and accessibility.
• Region: The Côte Chalonnaise is located south of the Côte de Beaune and is known for Pinot Noir with juiciness, freshness, and a friendlier character than many wines from the most famous villages of the Côte d’Or.
• Wine Selection: Chameroy is composed of different Pinot Noir plots. Therefore, the wine is not about one individual vineyard, but about a balanced Bourgogne Rouge with a recognizable Louis Latour style.
Grape composition
This red Burgundy is made from Pinot Noir, the classic red grape of Burgundy.
• Pinot Noir – Burgundy: Pinot Noir gives Bourgogne Rouge Chameroy its delicate aroma, elegant structure, and blackcurrant aromas. The grape is known for its refinement and light tannins, making the wine smooth to drink yet distinctly characterful.
Vinification and aging
With Chameroy, the emphasis is on fruit, finesse, and drinkability, with room for short further development in the bottle.
• Bottle aging: The wine is ready to drink now, but 1 or more years of bottle aging can give the aroma and taste more depth. This softens the blackcurrant fruit and gives the wine a more rounded Burgundian development.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Bourgogne Rouge Chameroy 2022 has a delicate aroma with notes of blackcurrant. The taste is smooth, elegant, and accessible, with the fresh tension that makes Pinot Noir from Burgundy so appealing. The wine finishes refined and fruity, with enough depth for broad versatility at the table.
• Serving temperature: Serve this Bourgogne Rouge slightly chilled at 14–15 °C, so that the blackcurrant fruit remains fresh and the elegant structure comes through beautifully.
• Dishes: Good with roasted or baked fish, red meat, game, poultry, and cheeses. This Chameroy also excellent as a Verre d’Amitié, a convivial glass to share.
