The 2019 vintage in Rioja has been rated as excellent with a score of 95. The wines from this year are of very high quality and are early maturing and accessible for consumption.

This Limite Sur is a wine from one of Ramon Bilbao's latest creations. It's a series of wines that explore the easternmost and westernmost regions of Rioja. For this red wine, 100 percent Garnacha grapes were selected from the southern Rioja region, in the Sierra de Yerga. Thanks to the high altitude, between 500 and 600 meters, the summer heat is tempered, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly.

Ramon Bilbao is a historic winery founded in 1924 by Ramon Bilbao Murga, an experienced wine merchant who had long sold quality wines. He was a true pioneer who knew how to ripen grapes sublimely. The winery was passed down through generations, always focusing on innovation and the production of quality wines. In the winery, they combine modern techniques with ancient Spanish traditions. The climate is typically warmer than in Rioja Alta, yet the high altitude in Rioja Baja ensures cooler nights, allowing the grapes to develop good acidity. The winemaker at Ramon Bilbao consistently succeeds in developing wines with a unique personality that reflect the new locations in Rioja.

10 months of wood aging for Limite Sur Garnache

The grapes are carefully harvested and selected, because only the finest juice is good enough for Ramon Bilbao wines. Vinification begins with maceration before fermentation, which preserves the floral aromas and color. Fermentation takes place in concrete at a controlled temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Finally, the wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. This Limite Sur Garnache sparkles with its ruby red color in the glass. It has an intense aroma filled with notes of red and fresh fruit, flowers, and pepper. The palate is delightfully fresh with good acidity and pleasant tannins. Balanced and with a pleasant, long finish.
