The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

One of the most impressive wines in the world. Just name a finer wine than this Château Lafite Rothschild. A wine that has captivated the wine world for centuries, made from the finest protected vineyards in Bordeaux. Château Lafite Rothschild is a wine of superlatives, where everything—absolutely everything—is at the very highest level.

Château Lafite Rothschild is a winery with roots stretching back to the 17th century. The oldest vineyards were planted during this period. The estate has changed hands repeatedly through inheritance. Since 1868, it has been continuously owned by the powerful Rothschild family, when James de Rothschild purchased the estate. The prominent Rothschild family is a major player in wine. Thanks to their expertise, everyone can enjoy the accessible quality of their wines. Wine was once only affordable for the nobility. Thanks to the Rothschild family's efforts, "modern" techniques were developed, making wine available to a wider audience. However, they have continued to produce this unique Château Lafite Rothschild, once again confirming the Rothschild family's expertise.

The estate is located in the beautiful Pauillac region, on the border with Saint-Estephe. Here you'll find the most beautiful vineyards, many of which are centuries old. The lion's share is reserved for Cabernet Sauvignon, typical of Pauillac. This is also the case in Château Lafite Rothschild. The wine is complemented with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This way, all the classic grape varieties are represented in this wine. A special feature is that the grapes are harvested manually, and infrared cameras are used to determine which plots are ready for harvesting at which time.

Just sit down and enjoy this: it's considered the best in the world for a reason. Pure craftsmanship, gentle refinement, and pure elegance. Everything about this masterpiece seems to be perfect. It has a delicate nose of fresh blackberries; a scent that flows through to the palate. On the palate, a touch of cedar and oak; naturally, with an intense cassis flavor, made possible by the blackcurrant fruit. Château Lafite Rothschild has a slightly smoky finish, making it sublime: from the first sip to the very last drop.
