Many wineries offer this type of wine, with varying degrees of success. But for us, it all begins with Zolla Primitivo di Manduria; the birthplace of superb Italian wines from Puglia.

The wines of Zolla

The Primitivo di Manduria is created in the hills surrounding the tiny, yet world-famous village of Manduria. This village is renowned for its Primitivo wines, which, thanks to their unique terroir, have a distinctive character. Zolla boasts arguably the most beautiful vineyards. The conditions are sublime. With altitudes of up to 400 meters, all the qualities required for beautiful, full bunches are present. A rich terroir and the abundant Italian sun are already incredibly beneficial, but it is the sea that clearly influences the vineyards. At night, a gentle coastal breeze blows in from the coast, which only enhances the growing process.

The full, firm Primitivo bunches are harvested by hand. This allows the winemaker to apply even stricter selection: only the finest grapes are considered for this wine. After pressing and fermentation, the precious juice is aged for a full eight months in both French and American oak barrels. This gives this Zolla its characteristic "Primitivo di Manduria" flavor. Small red berries, generous cherries, and fresh blackberries. But wait; there's more. Get ready for spices, plums, and a hint of cocoa. And the best part?
