Nicole Walsh, winemaker and owner of Lapis Luna, boasts an excellent resume, including her position as chairwoman of the prestigious Women-Owned Winery Movement. An impressive achievement! This is entirely thanks to her own wines: Lapis Luna. She founded it in 1999, at the turn of the 20th century, and for nearly a quarter of a century, she has been a leader in her home country. Nicole has a unique vision and philosophy regarding wine. She believes in the phases of the moon and its influence on the earth and the grapes that grow there. Lapis Luna literally means "the earth and the moon." Nicole carefully examines all external conditions at each vineyard before deciding to plant a particular grape variety. This ensures that each grape variety receives the best treatment in every vineyard.

Lapis Luna North Coast Pinot Noir

Nicole Walsh focuses primarily on the northern half of California, where Pinot Noir has also found its most beautiful habitat. Nicole plants the grapes a little further inland. This way, the ocean has some influence, but not too much. This ensures that the Pinot Noir doesn't become weak and fresh in flavor. Fortunately, with Lapis Luna North Coast Pinot Noir, we have a more complex Pinot Noir wine than many are used to. Beautiful ripe red fruit combines with blooming violets. The spices provide sufficient structure, giving Lapis Luna North Coast Pinot Noir plenty of character.
