Wood aging for the red Al Mercado

This red wine from Al Mercado is made from two Spanish grape varieties: Garnacha and Syrah. These grapes grow on very old vines that are up to 60 years old. This immediately determines the strength and fullness of this wine. For the red version, all bunches are harvested by hand and carefully inspected. Only the best bunches are used in this red wine. But before that, the juice is aged for at least six months in French oak barrels. And yes, then it's going to be delicious, we can tell you right away.

Such a beautiful glass of wine! Even as we pour it, we're struck by its stunning dark red color with purple glints. It fills the glass with aromas, bringing to mind black fruits like blackberries, currants, and plums. The notes of rosemary and pepper are unmistakable. The palate is full of complex, velvety-soft tannins and hints of plums, figs, and raspberries. The finish reveals some raisins and spices.
