The enchanting Caldora winery is located in Abruzzo. While this winery boasts a whopping twelve hundred hectares of vineyards, only two hundred hectares are used for Caldora wines. Only the finest bunches are selected for the Caldora series. We're dealing with the very best of this ultra-modern winery, and we're clearly seeing that. But before we reach that point, there's a lot of hard work to be done in the old vineyards.
The old Sangiovese vineyard of Caldora
Sangiovese grapes are grown in the best locations. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of up to three thousand meters above sea level, which provides sufficient coolness for the grapes. This freshness is essential because otherwise the Sangiovese would grow too quickly, but fortunately, we now have a calm and even growing season. Thanks to the many hours of sunshine, the grapes develop a high level of sugar, which translates into a soft and elegant flavor. Once the winemaker is satisfied with the grapes' ripeness, they are harvested at night. When the Sangiovese grapes arrive at Caldora, they are placed on sorting tables, and only the best bunches are selected to nourish the wine. The entire wine is fermented for a total of ten days to achieve greater depth in the final result. Well, that was a success! The smell and taste of the Caldora Sangiovese
Simply a top-notch Italian wine, that's how we described our first tasting notes for this red wine. This Caldora Sangiovese has aromas of cherry and raspberry on the nose. The palate is very soft, with nutty and woody notes, and a beautiful balance between the tannins and sweet red fruit. In short, this Caldora Sangiovese is very refined, full-bodied, and supple in style. This wine is the perfect everyday wine because it never gets old, but it also pairs well with dishes such as rich meat dishes, salami, and, of course, various pastas with red sauce.Product details
