Several producers, including the Metairie winery, have stepped up their efforts and ensured that the wines from the South of France possess greater quality, character, and flavor. The vineyards of Metairie

Metairie Winery doesn't have a particularly long history. It wasn't until 1995 that several winegrowers decided to join forces and founded the Metairie cooperative. This means that dozens of winegrowers in this wine region produce wine under the same label. The advantage is that the vineyards are widely dispersed; there are a vast number of hectares available for winemaking. The vines for Metairie Merlot are a full 20 years old. And the older the vines, the higher the quality of the grapes. The terroir is unique: it contains clay, volcanic rock, and sand. A remarkable combination, but one that gives Metairie Merlot its sparkling character.

The aroma and taste of Metairie Merlot

Anyone who tries to convince you that Merlot is flat and boring should try Metairie Merlot. All preconceived notions about Merlot will melt away when you pour this red wine. Your senses will be astonished by the excellent value for money. It approaches perfection. Just look at the aroma. Full and broad, which can be a surprising experience. Small red fruits like strawberries and berries predominate, but a skilled nose will also detect a hint of spice in Metairie Merlot. The taste is smooth, like silk and velvet.
