The 2023 vintage in the Languedoc was excellent, achieving an impressive score of 94 points on the Robert Parker scale. This results in high-quality wines that are beautifully balanced.

This beautiful winery and its vineyards are located in the town of Carcasonne in the south of France. Over the years, Monteclain has invested heavily in vineyard renovations, among other things. The winery also now boasts a modern winery, which has significantly improved the quality. Monteclain's goal is to create wines that are progressive and smooth. They've certainly succeeded, and this red wine embodies these qualities. It's a blend of various grape varieties perfectly balanced. A difficult task, but leave it to Monteclain's winemaker. After all, he's been surprising us for years with the finest and purest wines from the Pays s'Oc.

The blend for this red Monteclain

This wine is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Cinsault. These grapes are perfectly balanced and grow in a wonderful climate. The bunches enjoy ample sunshine, but also the cool breeze. This creates the perfect mix of warmth and coolness, allowing for a top-notch harvest. Once harvested, the bunches are thoroughly sorted at Monteclain, and only the usable bunches are used in this red wine. After a short aging period in the Monteclain cellars, this red wine is ready to drink.

The scent and taste of Monteclain Rouge

Pouring, we see a beautiful light red color with a purple sheen. We swirl the glass, and it gives our nose a wonderful sensation. Beautiful aromas of ripe forest fruits like blackberries and currants, accompanied by a touch of spice. The palate is soft and rounded, with a fair amount of ripe red and black fruit. The palate is pampered with soft flavors of berries and some plums, completing this red Monteclain.
