The 2021 vintage in the Veneto region is rated with an excellent score of 94, indicating wines of superior quality. The growing conditions were optimal, resulting in wines with beautiful freshness and a solid structure.

The vines are around sixty years old and are planted in hard, very chalky clay soil. It's no wonder this Savian Merlot has such a unique character. It's balanced, has beautiful soft notes, and is, above all, fresh.

Organic wines from Savian

Savian's adventure began in 1925, just after the First World War, when the founder of this winery acquired a small four-hectare farm. It has since grown into a substantial estate of 42 hectares. The winery is located between the Livenza and Tagliamento rivers, where the provinces of Venice, Pordenone, and Treviso meet. Thanks to the ideal climate here, grapes ripen perfectly, resulting in beautiful wines. Since 1993, they have been fully organic, based on the belief that a good product must be of high quality but also protect the environment. They achieve this through continuous improvement and innovation. They use organic farming methods to reduce energy, water, and material consumption throughout the entire winemaking process. From vine to bottle, the grapes are carefully harvested when they are optimally ripe. Once in the cellar, a strict selection process follows to ensure only the finest grapes are bottled. This is the only way, they say, to guarantee high quality. The entire vinification process is closely monitored, allowing for adjustments to be made at any time.

The fruity aromas of Savian Merlot Venezia

This Merlot has a beautiful, intense red color in the glass with violet reflections. It has a fruity aroma with notes of chamomile, black currant, blueberry jam, cedar, and black pepper. The oaky notes are also prominent. It's a balanced wine on the palate with soft notes. It has a pleasant fruity finish. This wine pairs well with light pasta dishes or meat dishes.
