But that's been true since the beginning of this beautiful winery, as far back as 1965, Californian winemaker Davis Bynum created the first new generation of California wines. In his garage, he set to work developing new wines with softness and purity. Well, he succeeded, and now, many years later, this inspiration continues. Barefoot owes its name to the first pressing, which was done with bare feet. That's why there's still a footprint on the label.

The harvest of the Pink Pinot Grigio

Crafting this Pink Pinot Grigio from Barefoot is a unique concept that requires the utmost precision. It all begins in the old vineyards where the Pinot Grigio grape grows. In the ideal climate with abundant sunshine and sufficient freshness, the grapes ripen beautifully. At the right ripeness, the Pinot Grigio grapes are harvested early in the morning to prevent damage to the bunches and preserve their natural freshness. Upon arrival, the light gray bunches are pressed, and the skins ripen along with them. The light gray, reddish skins impart their color and flavor to this rosé, and the Pink Pinot Grigio is born. A precise job, as the skins must be removed from the juice early on, but leave that to the winemaker at Barefoot.

The aroma and taste of the Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio

This Pinot Grigio rosé is the newest wine in Barefoot's line. We can safely say it's a great success: a ripe, soft rosé with a mild character. The aroma offers a ripe bouquet of apple, peach, and raspberry. The taste of this Barefoot Pink Pinot Grigio is mildly dry, wonderfully ripe, and rich in red fruit. Subtle nuances of red apple, raspberry, and cherry.
