The Roussillon region has an excellent reputation with scores up to 94 points in recent years. This indicates a period of exceptional quality and a consistent character for the wines from this area.
Lafage Miraflor 2020, it's finally here! After a long wait, we can finally present the Lafage Miraflor 2020. As we've come to expect from Lafage wines, the 2020 Miraflor is another top-notch wine! The 2020 harvest was excellent. The grapes were harvested early in September, leaving a wonderful freshness. Lafage has certainly managed to retain that freshness with this one—what a gem!
The wines of Domaine Lafage
Lafage has become a permanent fixture in our range. Domaine Lafage is nestled between the azure Mediterranean and the mighty Pyrenees, in the far south of France, between Perpignan and the coast. The estate boasts 140 hectares of vineyards on predominantly chalky soils. Today, Domaine Lafage is owned by the sixth generation of Lafage family. Jean-Marc and Eliane can be found at the winery daily. They have further elevated Lafage wines to the map and are now known worldwide for their wines. Why buy Miraflor rosé Lafage?
This delicious Miraflor rosé is made from two different grape varieties: Mourvedre and Grenache Gris. The vineyards for these grapes are located on terraces near the Mediterranean Sea, which imparts its influences to the grapes. Both grape varieties thrive in warmth and sunshine. However, it's important for the quality of the grapes that they also receive sufficient cooling. This cooling comes from the sea breeze and the falling nighttime temperatures on the terraces. When the grapes are perfectly ripe in early September, the manual harvest begins. After pressing and vinification in stainless steel vats, the wine is allowed to mature in the bottle for several months in the Lafage cellars. The taste of the Lafage rosé
Luckily, the bottle doesn't age too long, as we can hardly wait to taste this delicious rosé again. As we uncork the bottle, we stumble upon a beautiful glass stopper. We tilt it slightly, releasing the cap. Carefully, we pour the Lafage Rosé Miraflor and notice its salmon-pink color. This color brings the sun into the glass. Nosing the glass, we're transported to the south of France, surrounded by lavender fields bathed in glorious sunshine. Aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and ripe lemons waft pleasantly from the glass. A light hint of lavender is also noticeable at the finish. The palate is refreshing, with rich notes of red fruit and grapefruit. A good balance between mild and fresh, with a summery finish.Product details
