From vineyard to bottle

The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The Müller-Thurgau grape is primarily known in Germany, but it also proves to thrive in Alto Adige. This is undoubtedly due to the high altitude of the vineyards here. Müller-Thurgau thrives in a cool climate, which brings out the best in the acidity and purity of its wines.

Tiefenbrunner, a winery with a very friendly atmosphere. The well-known South Tyrolean atmosphere, that is. This beautiful winery also remains a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy an exceptional wine. Tiefenbrunner offers a wide selection, so there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. Christophe Tiefenbrunner took over the winery in 1991 and has since modernized it extensively, starting with the winery and then working on the vineyards. Grape arbors are typical of this region. The downside is that not all the grapes receive the right amount of sun. Therefore, Christophe decided to largely remove these and replace them with more regular vines. He also scaled back production slightly to elevate the quality of the wines. Tiefenbrunner owns twenty hectares of vineyards and also purchases grapes from other producers. Primarily white wines are produced from these, with only a few reds. Many wine lovers have fallen in love with the subtle wines of Tiefenbrunner. The Müller-Thurgau grape is primarily known in Germany, but it also proves to perform exceptionally well in Alto Adige. This is undoubtedly due to the high altitude of the vineyards here. Müller-Thurgau thrives in a cool climate, which best enhances the acidity and purity of its wines. After a short maceration, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented partially in large wooden barrels and partially in stainless steel, without the addition of pure yeast. The young wine then matures on its lees for almost a year. After bottling, this white wine is aged for a further six months in bottle. To preserve the aroma spectrum, the bottle is fitted with a screw cap.

This Feldmarschall von Fenner Tiefenbrunner has a fresh, open aroma, with lovely white fruit and a light spiciness. It has a lovely, open palate, with a touch of apple, a hint of pear, and a pleasant bitterness; a pleasant thirst quencher. Delicious with light fish dishes, but also excellent as an aperitif.
