What is Ribera del Duero wine?

Ribera del Duero wine comes from the Duero Valley in Castilla y León and includes both red and white wines. The reds are almost always made from Tinto Fino and are known for their power, concentration, and ageing potential. The whites are made from Albillo Mayor, with fresh aromas, subtle structure, and an elegant style. Both categories benefit from the extreme day-night differences and the high altitude of the plateau.

Origin and vineyards

The wine region stretches along the Duero River at elevations ranging from 750 to over 1,000 meters. The combination of intense sunshine, cool nights, and poor soil makes the region unique.
