Blason de l'Évangile is the second wine from Château l'Évangile, located on the famous Pomerol plateau on Bordeaux's Right Bank. The 2020 vintage is an accessible and refined wine, sourced from lighter clay-sand soils that create an elegant, fruit-driven style.
The grapes for Blason de l'Évangile come from plots with clay-sand and loamy soils with a clayey subsoil. These terroirs offer deep root development and regular water supply. Combined with the mild, warm growing season of 2020, this results in a wine that is supple, refined, and ideal in its youth.
The blend consists of 87% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats with gentle pumping over to promote extraction. Afterward, 80% of the wine is aged for 16 months in single-vineyard French oak barrels, while the remaining 20% is aged in barrels for malolactic fermentation.
An excellent choice with lamb, duck breast, stews, or mushroom dishes . Serve at 16 to 18°C.
Blason de l'Évangile 2020 showcases the finesse of Pomerol in an accessible style. A wine with suppleness, vibrancy, and depth, perfect for those seeking elegance and fruit in a single glass.
