In 1978, Roman and Adelheid Pfaffl, both young and ambitious, took over the helm of Weingut Pfaffl. At the time, the farm was primarily focused on growing grains, potatoes, cows, and pigs. But they were determined to transform this into a thriving vineyard. They expanded the estate to 110 hectares. Today, Pfaffl is an internationally renowned wine brand known for its innovative and down-to-earth approach to wine production, resulting in top-quality wines.
This delicious wine hails from the Lower Austria region, situated around the vibrant capital, Vienna. Here, the vineyards benefit from the loess soil and the perfect climate. The grapes ripen well in the warm weather during the day and cool down considerably at night. This promotes the overall ripening process. After harvest, the grapes are gently destemmed and crushed in the winery. They then undergo a 12-hour maceration before being pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 19 degrees Celsius. This allows the wine to retain its fruity aromas and freshness.
