Babylon's Peak is a private winery on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountains between Malmesbury and Paarl. Four generations have grown wine here, passing on their viticultural knowledge and passion through the centuries. Current winemaker Stephan and his father continue this proud legacy today. The name Babylon's Peak derives from the towering granite peak on the farm, known locally as "Babylonstoren" (in English, "The Tower of Babylon"). Some of the highest vineyards in the Swartland region are found here, at approximately 700 meters above sea level. The Paardeberg area is characterized by decomposed granite soils and a unique terroir, resulting in optimal soil expression and fruit purity.
All the grapes used for the wines are carefully selected and treated before being made in the traditional way. Because they are a private cellar, we have the opportunity to select and bottle only the finest quality wines, and this is evident in Busy Bee's wines.
