Our oenologists are constantly searching for the finest wines and the finest gems for our clients. In doing so, they have the pleasure of visiting many different wine regions. Each one is more beautiful and impressive than the last. However, there is one wine region that truly no one can match. A wine region so authentic and idyllic, even the most characteristic village in central Italy can't match it. We are, of course, talking about Alsace, the crown jewel of northern France.
The Alsace wines
Alsace boasts a remarkably long wine culture. Wines have been produced here for centuries using the same principles. This gives Alsace wines a pure and distinctive identity. There are plenty of historic wineries, including Balthazar Fry. Their history stretches back quite a while. However, this proves that the succession of generations has resulted in a clear improvement in the quality of Balthazar Fry's wines.
The wines of Balthazar Fry
The winery was founded in 1836 by Balthazar Fry. It was situated on the outskirts of Bergheim, a well-known town in Alsace. Perched on the hilltop, the view resembled a still life: medieval city walls, church bells ringing, and the sun shining through the houses. He sensed that this would be a special location for his winery. He was absolutely right. Now, the seventh generation is at the helm of Balthazar Fry, and they are still capable of creating some of the most impressive Alsatian wines.

Alsace wines are distinguished by their grapes. No other wine region in the world boasts such distinctive grapes. Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling—grape varieties synonymous with Alsace wines. Balthazar Fry's flagship wine is undoubtedly the Balthazar Fry Cremant d'Alsace, a premium sparkling wine from Alsace.
