When it's buttery smooth, we're naturally talking about top quality. And that certainly applies to this top-notch wine from Barefoot, which owes its name to its oak aging and buttery smooth flavor. This beautiful white wine has a fantastic buttery character and a unique character all its own. We're therefore talking about the top-notch wine from Barefoot in California. The Barefoot story goes back to 1965, when Mr. Davis Bynum first made a glass of Barefoot wine. He wanted to make wines that were accessible to a wide audience, each with its own unique character. Well, he more than succeeded, and the winery is now part of the large and well-known Gallo winery.

Wood aging for the Barefoot Buttery

The Chardonnay bunches come from Barefoot's oldest and most powerful vineyard in the Lodi wine region. Here, the environment is perfect for Chardonnay, with plenty of sunshine and plenty of room for cooling breezes. The old, thick vines provide winemaker Jennifer Wall with the finest bunches in the region. After a long and balanced growing season, they are full and very powerful and are harvested in the early morning. Once all the grapes are harvested, a small amount of Verdelho is added for a touch of freshness. This is followed by aging in both French and American oak barrels. The result is a stunning wine, creamy and buttery smooth.

Full and very powerful this Barefoot Buttery Chardonnay

As soon as we open the bottle, we immediately smell the oak aging, abundant yellow fruit accompanied by hazelnuts, fresh popcorn, and freshly baked apples. In the glass, it flows beautifully, and the golden-yellow juice reveals the quality of this Barefoot Buttery Chardonnay. It flows from the glass, offering hints of apricots, peaches, and vanilla. There's also cedar, popcorn, and some ripe apples. The palate is delightful, with a richness of yellow fruit, accompanied by vanilla, oak, and apple pie. On the back of the palate, some mango and pineapple with a buttery-smooth finish.
