Barefoot Malbec

It's been a while, but it's more than worth it for this new Malbec wine from Barefoot. Winemaker Jennifer Wall has spent a lot of time developing her Malbec over the past few years. She knows better than anyone how Barefoot wines should taste, and this red wine is one of her favorites. But that wasn't easy, as Malbec only grows well in cooler climates. That's why Barefoot chose to plant the Malbec grape in a unique location, giving the grapes a bit more coolness.

The Malbec harvest

The grapes grow on relatively young vines, yet in a superb climate. The rich soil structure provides the grapes with everything they need. The sun strengthens the bunches, while the cooling wind and nighttime temperatures provide richness. This ensures perfectly balanced harvests, and at the right ripeness, they are harvested early in the morning. This prevents damage to the Malbec bunches and preserves their freshness.

Full and very powerful this Barefoot Malbec

It's full-bodied and robust with a very good bite. This is already noticeable on the nose, where this Malbec offers notes of ripe black fruit, a touch of plum, dark chocolate, and subtle, refined spices. The taste is what we've come to expect from Barefoot: full-bodied and robust with the right amount of softness. This Malbec is also round and robust with plenty of flavor notes of black fruit, ripe cherries, and spices like cinnamon and pepper. A delicious glass, perfect for any day!
