The vineyards of Bischel in Germany

Weingut Bischel is one of Germany's most celebrated wineries. It is located in Rheinhessen, just west of the bustling city of Frankfurt am Main. In just a short time, Weingut Bischel has become one of Rheinhessen's leading wineries. Through sheer passion and unwavering perseverance, the winery has now earned a VDP classification. VDP stands for Verband Deutscher Pradikatsweinguter (Association of German Pradikatsweinguter), an association that only the finest wineries are members of. Membership means producing wines according to the highest, established quality standards. Only the finest wineries are eligible for this.

The German wines of Bischel

Weingut Bischel has planted a unique acreage. Besides local favorites like Riesling, Silvaner, and Burgundy, she has discovered that international varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay also thrive in the vineyard's soil, which consists primarily of shell limestone. Her wines are characterized by the use of a single grape, so-called monovarietal wines. This way, the strength of each grape variety is highlighted individually.

Besides its excellent white wines, such as Bischel Silvaner or Bischel Grauer Burgunder, Weingut Bischel also produces a very successful red wine: the Bischel Dornfelder Trocken. Here, the Dornfelder plays a starring role. This beloved grape is increasingly being planted in German vineyards and is also a success in Bischel's vineyards.
