The 2021 vintage in this region received an excellent rating of 95 points. The wines are of outstanding quality, although they may currently still be somewhat youthful and tannic.

A new sensation from the ultra-modern Principe de Viana winery. This winery doesn't have centuries of history. It lacks a decades-long family history and isn't a winery that has been passed down countless times from generation to generation. However, that doesn't mean the wines are bad. Quite the opposite. Despite the lack of a rich history, the wines of Principe de Viana are, as we say, perfect. Sublime. Add nothing more. Pour and enjoy. That's all that remains.

A red wine from Spain

Principe de Viana was founded in the mid-1980s in Navarra, northern Spain. Since then, it has acquired many other exceptional vineyards in some of the most impressive locations. This magnificent example, for example, comes from vineyards in the northern Spanish province of Burgos. The vineyards in this part of Spain are situated much higher than average, at an altitude of up to 1,000 meters. This is beneficial for the grapes: there is a significant difference in skin temperature between day and night, which supports the grapes' growth process.
