Bodegas Callia proves that a young bodega can produce top-quality wines in a short time. Their goal: to produce the best wine in San Juan and the finest shiraz in Argentina. According to legend, a young woman, Callia, came with her family from a small village in Italy to San Juan, Argentina. The beauty of San Juan captivated her from the first moment. When her family wanted to return to Italy after several years, the young woman decided to stay. San Juan became her new home. Even today, years after her death, the inhabitants of this region say that Callia's love for this land is still palpable everywhere. This special land was said to produce a different kind of wine, unique in the world. And so, Bodegas Callia was born. A special place in the world for a special wine, made by a special winemaker: Jose Ruben Morales.

Callia owns over 240 hectares of vineyards in the Tulum Valley in the province of San Juan. Recently, it acquired vineyards in the Pedernal Valley in the same province. Another 350 hectares are grown primarily in the noble grape varieties Malbec and Shiraz. The vineyards are situated at an average elevation of 630 meters above sea level. By optimally utilizing the location, terroir, and climate variations, Callia produces a wide variety of wines. Syrah (Shiraz) plays a key role.
