Cantine Menhir No Zero Negroamaro

For years, this has been a staple in our selection, and it's no wonder, as this red wine boasts soft, ripe, and highly refined qualities. The winemakers of Menhir Salento cultivate Negroamaro grapes in a beautiful nature park in Puglia, specifically in the northern part of the Salento province. The old vineyards, some 35 years old, produce powerful and refined bunches. This is also partly due to the perfect climate for this No Zero Negroamaro: abundant sunshine, a cool sea breeze, and rich soil contribute to a calm growing season.

We are at No Zero

The label reads "No Zero," a tribute to the long journey Menhir Salento took to create this beautiful red wine. As they say, "we started from scratch and had to discover everything." This long journey has led to this red No Zero Negroamaro becoming a true phenomenon. After being harvested by hand, some of this No Zero wine is aged in oak barrels. This gives it more power and finesse than its competitors.

The aroma and taste of the No Zero Negroamaro

On the nose, this No Zero Negroamaro has aromas of plums and cherries, and especially leather, tobacco, and pepper. A truly classy wine in our opinion, with its rich flavor and firm tannins. The palate offers lovely hints of blackberry and black cherry, along with vanilla, plum, chocolate, and tobacco. The finish is long with soft nuances. The wine also pairs perfectly with many dishes, such as rabbit, guinea fowl, chicken dishes, but also mature cheese and, of course, a nice piece of Pecorino. But this red wine can also be enjoyed as an evening wine, delicious on the couch with a little bite.
