The 400-year-old vineyards of Château de l'Aumerade are beautifully situated among the hills of Pierrefeu, in the heart of the Provence region. The château boasts a long, even regal, history dating back to the 15th century. In 1932, the current owner, the Fabre family, purchased this property with the intention of creating one of the finest and most beautiful wineries in the region. L'Aumerade is one of 21 estates in Provence with Cru Classé status. This wine is made from Syrah (35%), Grenache (35%), and Cinsault (30%) grape varieties. After the harvest at the end of September, the must undergoes "pellicular maceration," during which it ferments at a low temperature. This controlled temperature extends the fermentation process and allows the wine time to develop additional aromas from the grape skins. This is followed by aging for several months in a climate-controlled cellar. This cuvée is a tribute to the owner's sister, Marie Christine Fabre-Grimaldi.
