Until 2001, that is. Grandson Ciro Matichecchi decided to travel to Puglia and transform the estate into a prestigious vineyard. He planted the vines and pursued his passion: winemaking. We can now confidently say that he has more than succeeded. The Cignomoro vineyards offer a rich selection of grape varieties. All local varieties are represented, such as Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Susumaniello, and, of course, the renowned Primitivo. The vineyards are ideally situated, bathed in sunshine from Puglia.
