Conti Zecca is one of the last remaining family-run wineries in the region. The Zecca family moved from Naples to Puglia in the 15th century, and they have been producing wine at this estate ever since. Today, the descendants of Count Zecca run the company. They all still bear the title Conti Zecca, which means Count of Zecca. Some of their vineyards are located on the coast. These produce easier wines because the soil there is shallower. The inland vineyards have deeper soil. The wines from these vineyards are fuller, riper, and with thicker fruit.
