Esprit de Crès Ricards was founded in 1960 in the village of Ceyras, in an area known as Crès Ricards. Fifty years later, Jean-Claude Mas took over the 28 hectares of vines at the foot of Mont Baudile. The beautiful combination of red clay soil, slate, and pebbles ensures that this area produces silky-smooth wines with intense flavors. The grapes are carefully selected in the relatively low-lying area, which is essential for the flavor. In 2012, Jean-Claude Mas expanded the vineyards to 39 hectares.
