He decided to plant and experiment with the white grape varieties Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc. This resulted in Tariquet's first white wine in 1982. The crowning achievement came in 1987 when Yves was named best winemaker of the year. Yves's children, Armin and Remy Grassa, currently manage Tariquet's day-to-day operations.

The vineyards in Gascony

Tariquet's vineyards are located in Gascony, a wine region in southwestern France. This area is known for its vibrant white wines. Tariquet has a whopping 1,000 hectares of vineyards here; even by French standards, this is a vast area.
