The Italian wines from Campania

Donnachiara wines from Italy

The successful Donnachiara winery also plays a significant role in this. Grapes have been grown at the estate for five generations. What makes Donnachiara unique is that it was primarily women who were at the helm. For decades, they sold their grapes to leading wineries, until 2005. The family, then headed by powerhouse Chiara Petitto, decided to establish their own vineyards. Today, daughter Ilaria Petitto is at the helm of this fantastic winery.

The wines of Donnachiara

Anyone who thinks Campania has nothing to offer in the wine world is completely mistaken. The Avellino wine region is becoming increasingly well-known among wine lovers. Taurasi wines are now affectionately known as "the Barolo of the South." Donnachiara's wine, featuring the local powerhouse Aglianico, has built an excellent reputation among wine connoisseurs.

But the Falanghina grape is also growing in popularity. More and more people are enjoying this Campanian white grape. This snowball effect has resulted in Donnachiara now producing several successful wines featuring Falanghina. Our favorite wine remains the Donnachiara Resilienza Falanghina Beneventano; a wine where everything seems to be just right.
