A prestigious project by Lenotti, who wanted to demonstrate the high quality of DOCG wines. Well, it has resulted in a glass of world-class wine. Such power and refinement! To achieve greater depth, they chose to dehydrate some of the grapes, essentially the same technique used for Amarone. This technique requires considerable attention, but the result is stunning and a true feat of winemaking excellence.

The real family business Lenotti

The Lenotti winery has a long history and remains a family business to this day. The company began producing wines in 1906. Initially, they focused on the production and sale of barrel-aged wine. Later, they transitioned to producing quality wines exclusively bottled. So, today, they remain a true family business. Giancarlo Lenotti is the oenologist, production manager, and facilitator; Marina Lenotti is the sales manager for the domestic market; and their son, Claudio, is the export manager. Innovation is a key element at the winery, and in 2005, they completely renovated and modernized the vinification process, barrel storage, and bottling plant.

The production of Lenotti Bardolino Classico Superiore Le Olle

Because a "regular" Bardolino Classico is known as a light, enjoyable wine, Lenotti chooses a different approach for the production of Bardolino Classico Superiore Le Olle. All the craftsmanship, experience, and knowledge are applied to create a top-notch wine worthy of the DOCG designation. The grapes used for this red wine are Corvina, Rondinella, and Cabernet Sauvignon. They grow in the La Pra vineyard, located on the hills on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The soil consists of clay and limestone. The grapes are harvested in late September, and seventy percent are then pressed and vinified. The remaining thirty percent are dried for forty to fifty days and then vinified. Aging takes place partly in large wooden barrels and partly in stainless steel, followed by bottle aging. And finally, we have this quality wine with aromas reminiscent of a true Bardolino: black fruit, light spices, currants, vanilla, and oak. The palate is exquisite, thanks in part to aging in large oak barrels, giving the wine total balance and nuances of blackberry, cherry, cinnamon, cedar, vanilla, plum, and currant.
