The Italian wines of Marco Felluga

One of the most impressive wineries in Fruili is Marco Felluga. This winery has an impressive history dating back to the mid-19th century. A winery was founded in Istria, in present-day Croatia. However, in 1930, the second generation, Giovanni Felluga, decided to move the winery to Collio, located in the Fruili region. At that time, there wasn't really a winery to speak of. Giovanni's son, Marco Felluga, took care of that. In 1936, they established the winery as we know it today. Roberto Felluga is now at the helm and is arguably responsible for producing some of Fruili's finest wines.

The wines of Marco Felluga

Marco Felluga is located in the Collio region, approximately 45 kilometers northwest of the northern Italian port city of Trieste. Just a stone's throw from the Italian-Slovenian border, you'll find Marco Felluga's vineyards, which encompass over 120 hectares. The lion's share of the planted grapes is white. Hectares of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio dominate the view of Marco Felluga's vineyards. Almost all the grapes are fermented in stainless steel (R.S.T.), which emphasizes the aromatic character of the Fruili wines.
