What to celebrate? Then consider the collection of large bottles from Moët & Chandon! Take this 12-liter bottle in a crate, for example. A beautiful gift, but also wonderful to serve at a wedding or party. These large bottles are produced in very limited quantities and are therefore quite exclusive. Only 20 bottles of this Champagne are brought to the Netherlands each year. At a whopping 73 centimeters tall, it's a real gem! This 12-liter bottle, also known as Balthazar, is filled with Moët & Chandon's most famous Champagne, the Brut Imperial. This Champagne made the prestigious Champagne house world-famous. So famous, in fact, that every second a bottle of Moët & Chandon is uncorked somewhere in the world! No one could have imagined that this Champagne would become so immensely popular back in 1743, when the Champagne house was founded.

This 12-liter Balthazar is also made from the three Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay. All the grapes are grown in the finest areas within the Champagne region. In addition to the 600 hectares of vineyards owned by Maison Moët, they also have long-term partnerships with winegrowing families who carefully cultivate grapes for Moët & Chandon. As you can probably imagine, only the best is good enough for these world-famous Champagnes. This is also evident at Rue de Champagne in Eperney, where Moët & Chandon's main building is located, providing access to the magnificent cellars. The aging of a 12-liter bottle, Balthazar, is much better than in a standard bottle due to its size. In this 12-liter bottle, the Champagne has the optimal space and time to develop into a perfect Champagne. This Moët & Chandon 12-liter case is certainly a perfect Champagne! Just uncorking this large bottle is a true celebration. Upon pouring, we immediately see the straw-yellow color with a golden shimmer. This shimmer is caused by the fine mousse that dances through the glass. On the nose, we encountered a broad and pleasant bouquet of citrus, apple, pear, and freshly baked bread. The fine mousse gives this Brut Imperial a pleasant and soft mouthfeel. The flavor offers rich nuances of white fruit, nicely balanced by a subtle hint of citrus. The finish is wonderfully refreshing and, thanks to the large 12-liter Balthazar bottle, a true celebration!Product details
