This winery has a Dutch influence. It was founded by Dutchman Philippus Wolvaart in 1791. He purchased an estate in Paarl of no less than 49 hectares, with a historic farmhouse at its center. Today, the historic farmhouse remains intact, but Nederburg's wines are contemporary. This also explains Nederburg's motto: progress in tradition.

South African wines

Nederburg wines are produced in the Paarl wine region. This region, located about 50 kilometers north of Cape Town, is considered one of the finest in South Africa.
