The Spanish wines of Obalo
Over the past fifteen years, Obalo has built a truly impressive reputation. Yes, you read that right: just fifteen years. While most wineries in Rioja and the rest of Spain often have a history spanning decades, Obalo only saw the light of day in 2006. Bodegas Obalo was founded by Spaniard Manuel Jove. His vision and dedication have ensured that Obalo produces arguably the finest wines in Rioja.
Obalo wine from Rioja
When you think of Spanish wines, it's hard to ignore the robust, distinctive wines of the Rioja region. This region has truly achieved iconic status, thanks in part to the exquisite wines produced here. Bodegas Obalo is also located in the Rioja region, specifically on the border between Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta, the heart of the Rioja region. In the vineyards just west of Logrono, typical Spanish grape varieties thrive. Of course, it's Tempranillo, in particular, that thrives in the Rioja soil. This grape therefore plays a prominent role in Obalo's wines.
Why buy Obalo wine?
Tempranillo lovers: take note! Obalo wines are a great choice. They perfectly represent this grape variety. Both the Crianza and the Reserva bring out the best in each wine. The Obalo Las Arenas Reserva Rioja has undergone significant oak aging, giving the red wine incredible depth. But Bodegas Obalo offers even more. Consider the Obalo Rioja Rosé. A Tempranillo-flavored rosé. Robust, full of character, yet incredibly refreshing. Ideal for the rosé lover looking for something different.
