Buy or order Ouled Thaleb wine

Domaine Ouled Thaleb is named after the tribe that owns the land and still works the estate. The founding of this beautiful winery dates back to 1923. The estate is located along the Zenata coast between Casablanca and Rabat. The establishment of Ouled Thaleb led to the renewal of the Moroccan wine industry in the 1990s. Although most of the fruit comes from its own vineyards, Ouled Thaleb also works closely with partners to produce perfect wines. The classic style of the wines is closely monitored by winemaker Stéphane Marriot. The vines have been carefully cultivated to protect them from the heat. Although temperatures are high during the day, the Atlantic Ocean provides a cooling breeze, and it is considerably cooler than in Meknes. The vineyards are farmed organically. With its high mountains and maritime influence, Morocco is a large and fertile area for grape cultivation. French colonists brought their winemaking traditions to Morocco. When the colonists left after Morocco gained independence, the Kingdom of Morocco took ownership of the vineyards. The industry lost not only the French expertise that had put Morocco on the map as a wine country, but also a significant consumer base, both locally and in mainland France. As a result, production plummeted from nearly 400 million bottles to almost nothing. Nevertheless, Domaine Oude Thaleb has managed to bounce back and now produces superb wines.
