The Australian summer can get quite warm; you could even call it hot. Therefore, viticulture is often concentrated along the major rivers that meander mightily through the landscape. The Oxford Landing vineyards feature numerous classic grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. However, one grape stands out: Shiraz. This grape is the unofficial grape of Australia: it can withstand temperatures very well and copes well with the absence of excessive water.
