Buy or order Peacock wine

Peacock wines are pure and, above all, incredibly delicious. This is all thanks to the craftsmanship evident in the South African vineyards. The winery was founded by Paul Boutinot, who made a splash with his talent. Peacock wines are now a staple for many wine lovers; you simply can't get enough of them.

The Peacock wines from Waterkloof Estate

Peacock's wines are developed by one of the most progressive wineries of the past 20 years. We're talking about Waterkloof Estate. Its history is short, but its results are impressive. Waterkloof Estate was acquired in 2004 and is located in Stellenbosch, the most beautiful part of South Africa. It's situated in the Somerset West region, literally a stone's throw from the ocean. Because the vineyards are situated at an altitude of 300 meters, you can easily see the ocean waves with the naked eye while walking through the vineyards.

Peacock's South African wines

At Waterkloof Estate, the wineries operate entirely biodynamically. This means the winemakers are mindful of both people and the environment. For example, no pesticides are used and the grapes are grown with respect for nature. This allows renowned winemaker Paul Boutinot to create arguably Stellenbosch's finest wines. He does this by carefully considering the natural conditions and intervening as little as possible during the production process.

Peacock's Vineyards

The vines are planted across the many hectares of the Waterkloof Estate. The grapes for Peacock wines are grown on the upper slopes. Here, the grapes receive optimal warmth from the daily sun, but also a refreshing nighttime breeze from the ocean. This combination makes for an ideal growing process. The grapes are somewhat unknown in South Africa. Sure, Chenin Blanc is quite well-known, as is Syrah. However, Pau Boutinot also surprises friends and foes with grape varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, creating heavenly wines from them.

What is the best Peacock wine?

You can't go wrong with Peacock, whether you're red or white. The white wines, Peacock Wild Ferment Sauvignon Blanc and Peacock Wild Ferment Chenin Blanc, are refreshing explosions of flavor. Crisp, refreshing, almost crunchy. Well-balanced for their fruit, they're versatile. Peacock's red is a bit more intense, but still a true crowd-pleaser. Peacock Wild Ferment Merlot, in particular, will surprise you; it's spicy yet friendly, an unusual yet beloved combination. Anyone longing for authentic South Africa will enjoy a glass of Peacock Wild Ferment Syrah, where a powerful peppery note allows the wine to evolve beautifully.
