A bottle of cava is always a celebration. This sparkling wine from Spain has experienced a revival among the general public over the past 15 years. And honestly, what's more festive than a glass of sparkling wine in your hands? We love cava, especially the Pere Ventura varieties, which have a history stretching back generations.
The Spanish Cava
What Champagne is to France and Prosecco to the vineyards of Veneto, Northern Italy, Cava is to the Iberian Peninsula. A sophisticated sparkling wine with the depth of Champagne, but at the price of Prosecco. An ideal combination. Pere Ventura's Cava wines also have a unique and especially important history. Pere Ventura's great-grandfather was at the cradle of modern Spanish cava when it was discovered at the end of the 19th century. Therefore, the bottles of Pere Ventura Cava are historically extremely important.
The Cava of Pere Ventura
Great-grandfather took the first steps in cava, but Pere Ventura’s grandfather and father perfected the production process and ensured that the quality increased enormously. They managed to discover the best combination of the classic cava grape varieties (macabeo, Parellada and Xarello) and created a great house style. When Pere was only thirty and saw what his grandfather and father had achieved, he knew for sure; I want this too. He founded a cava wine company in 1992, and not without success; it is now one of the major players on the Iberian Peninsula.

Cava wines are considered among the finest cavas from Spain. There are several reasons for this. Besides the exquisite grapes, Pere Ventura also believes that the strength of cava lies in the aging process. All cavas, without exception, are aged for at least 18 months in Pere Ventura's cool cellars. For the most exclusive cavas, Pere Ventura even chooses to let them rest for at least 36 months.
