Buy or order Ponte Levatoio wine
An Italian giant to whom we bow deeply. As soon as we held the Ponte Levatoio bottles in our hands, we fell in love. Besides their appearance, they embody exactly what Italian wines stand for: refinement, diversity, and above all, incredibly delicious.
The Italian wines from Abruzzo
Although France is always considered the number one wine country, in our opinion, it really belongs to Italy. Wine is produced successfully in every corner of this Mediterranean country. The north, the center, the south, and even the islands are awash with vineyards. The wines of Ponte Levatoio are found in the central part of "the boot," namely in Abruzzo. Sandwiched between the Adriatic Coast, Molise, Lazio, and Marche, many people tend to skip Abruzzo. Our advice is to avoid it, as it's a very popular wine region for us.
The wines of Ponte Levatoio
Ponte Levatoio is located in the eastern part of the region and has its vineyards largely in the province of Chieti. Chieti is one of the most important provinces for Abruzzo wines. The number of Ponte Levatoio vineyards is also remarkable. They boast a whopping 2,700 hectares, roughly equivalent to about 4,000 football fields. An incredible number, one that would make many other wineries envious.
Buy Ponte Levatoio wines
The Ponte Levatoio vineyards in Abruzzo are primarily dedicated to indigenous varieties—something the Italians are masters of. Think of varieties like Sangiovese, Pecorino, and of course Montepulciano, from which the renowned Ponte Levatoio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is made. But Ponte Levatoio also cultivates "classic" grape varieties like Chardonnay and Merlot. Besides the vineyards in Abruzzo, there are also beautiful vineyards in Puglia, further south, where the famous Ponte Levatoio Primitivo is produced.
