Nestled in the heart of Rioja lies a small plot of vineyard that has reached an average age of seventy years. The old, thick trunks have deep roots that are well-suited to the warm climate. The soil contains an abundance of powerful influences, including fine loam and abundant limestone—everything the Tempranillo grape thrives on.

The climate in the old vineyards is unique. Abundant sunshine and warm temperatures contribute to a ripe harvest. Fortunately, however, there's also the wind and cool nighttime air, which contribute to a smooth growing season. Because the vineyard is situated at a slightly higher elevation, the grapes receive the perfect balance of warmth and coolness, which is evident in the aroma development of this red Ramon Bilbao Mirto.

After the long period of development on the vines, it's time to bring in the harvest. All the grapes are selected entirely by hand, and only the finest bunches are placed in small wooden crates. This is done to prevent damage to the bunches and preserve the freshness of the grapes. The Ramon Bilbao Mirto is aged for 20 months in new French "Allier" oak barrels, giving it its unique flavor and aroma. We believe it's a truly worldly glass of wine you'll never forget.
