Vintage Report
The 2021 vintage in California's Central Coast region produced outstanding wines with a top score of 95 points. This vintage is characterized by exceptional quality, although the wines may currently be a bit youthful and tannic.
In the 1970s, the Zaninovich family purchased vineyards in the Arroya Secco region, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This region boasts a perfect climate for Pinot Noir. Thanks to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the area enjoys a cool climate with an extended growing season. This extra hanging time promotes greater fruit ripeness and brighter acidity. The vineyards have deep, gravelly soils, ideal for the lush Pinot Noir grape.
Ten months of wood aging for the Scott Family Estate Pinot Noir
The first Scott wines were launched in 2008. For a long time, the grapes were sold to other vineyards. But the Zaninovich family soon realized they had a golden opportunity with their vineyards and decided to start making their own wine. The name was chosen in honor of Raymond Scott, the grandfather of owner Morgan Zaninovich. This unique combination of soil and climate produces relatively small berries with intense, concentrated flavors. After harvest, the grapes are rigorously inspected and selected. Only the finest juice is good enough. The red wine is aged for ten months in French oak barrels. Because perfection requires patience. The aroma and taste of this Pinot Noir
The result is a Pinot Noir with a sweet sage and cherry bouquet, toasted oak, and dark roasted coffee notes, and subtle aromas of dried cherry, vanilla, currant, and fresh rosemary. The sharp acidity is balanced by robust tannins for a full-bodied texture and a long, luxurious finish. This 100 percent Pinot Noir is richly structured with balanced acidity, silky tannins, and a smooth, lingering finish. Enjoy this elegant Pinot Noir now or savor it over the next ten years. Pair Scott Family Estate Pinot Noir with hearty and richly flavored dishes like Beef Bourguignon, pan-seared halibut with a rich and creamy sauce, or roasted pumpkin and goat cheese pizza.Product details
