The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

This trio of grapes, also known as the "GSM," is the absolute star of this wine. The seductive aromas of red fruit and light spices, enveloped by creamy tannins and a subtle vanilla flavor, create a sensational tasting experience. But that's not all: this wine also boasts irresistible smoothness and stunning length. It's no wonder this wine has been a favorite among connoisseurs and wine drinkers for years.

Saint Colias is a French wine series produced by the renowned Les Vignerons du Narbonnais winery. This winery has been operating for over 85 years and is a cooperative of 330 local winegrowers from the region around Narbonne. The cooperative's vineyards encompass a total area of over 1,500 hectares, ensuring an inexhaustible supply of grapes and allowing the winemakers to select the finest bunches for the production of Saint Colias Chardonnay. Thanks to modern equipment, the cooperative can produce wine on a large scale without compromising quality. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, with only the finest grapes being selected. They are then destemmed and crushed to release the juice. The juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures to ensure the wine's flavor and aromas develop optimally. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to oak barrels for further aging. During this process, the wine develops additional flavor and aroma characteristics, such as the subtle vanilla flavor characteristic of this wine.

The Saint Colias Grenache Syrah Mourvedre Cuvée Reserve offers a mouthwatering tasting experience. The wine boasts enticing aromas of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and berries, subtly complemented by hints of light spice. Creamy tannins give the wine a delightful texture. Alongside the fruity notes, the wine also boasts a hint of vanilla, derived from the oak aging. The vanilla adds an extra dimension and adds complexity to the wine. What truly sets this wine apart is its irresistible smoothness and astonishing length, ensuring a long, lingering flavor.

Vintage 2023
2023 was een uitdagend maar over het algemeen goed jaar voor de Languedoc, gekenmerkt door warme en droge omstandigheden. Dit resulteerde in geconcentreerde wijnen met rijpe fruittonen, vooral voor Grenache en Syrah.
