In our opinion, one of the finest Champagne houses. Even if you're not a fan of their style of Champagne, it's hard to deny its intriguing history. It all began with Parisian politician Pierre Taittinger, who purchased Château de la Marquetterie in 1932. He fell in love with Champagne and, as was only natural, founded a Champagne house. Modest as he was, he named it Champagne Taittinger.
The Champagne of Tattinger
Until the Second World War, Pierre Taittinger was particularly active in politics. He therefore entrusted his sons, Francois, Jean, and Claude, to run the champagne house. Together, they made Taittinger Champagne a world-class champagne. Now, the fourth generation is eager to take over the champagne house.
Taittinger has the most beautiful champagnes
The grapes still come from exclusive Grand Cru vineyards. The headquarters are currently located in Reims, while Château de la Marquetterie, just south of Epernay, can still be visited to experience the richness and opulence of Champagne Taittinger's earlier decades. Because Champagne Taittinger sets minimal standards for all its champagnes, the quality is consistently high.
The different champagnes of Taittinger
In Taittinger Champagne, Chardonnay plays a prominent role in almost every champagne. This makes the champagnes delicate and fruity. Their classic Taittinger Brut Champagne is therefore a friendly and accessible champagne. Looking for something special? Then choose, for example, Taittinger Nocturne Sec or Taittinger Les Folies de la Marquetterie. Each is an excellent champagne that stands out in quality. The crown jewels at Taittinger are undoubtedly the Vintage Champagnes: Taittinger Comtes de Champagne. These champagnes are only released in exceptionally good years.
A large bottle of Taittinger champagne
Luckily, Taittinger also offers large bottles of champagne. Perfect for larger gatherings. Because let's be honest: a bottle of champagne is completely gone after six glasses. With Taittinger Brut Champagne MAGNUM, you get a double bottle of champagne, giving you a whopping 1.5 liters of high-quality champagne at home.
