Terres Quero

Buy or order Terres Quero wine

Argentina at its finest. Nothing too fancy. No fuss; just a good glass of wine. We love Terres Quero Torrontes, a wine that's quintessentially Argentinian. For those not so thrill-seeking, you can always turn to Terres Quero Chardonnay. The trusted quality of a Chardonnay with a spirited Argentinian twist.

Argentina. Who doesn't love it? Since our former Crown Prince ran off with a beautiful Argentinean, we in the Netherlands can no longer ignore Argentina either. But besides future queens, Argentina has even more to offer: wine! Along with Chile, it plays a key role in South American wine. Argentine wines are mainly found in the far west of the country, at the foot of the mighty Andes, a gigantic mountain range that forms a natural border with Chile. Anyone who truly wants to discover the heart of Argentine wine is better off traveling to Mendoza, a fairly large provincial city that fills the heart of the wine scene. A short distance from here, we also find the impressive Terres Quero winery; a winery we've fallen in love with.

The wines of Terres Quero

Mendoza is the heart of Argentine viticulture. Numerous renowned winemakers hail from this region. One of the most beautiful subregions is Valle de Uco, also home to Terres Quero. The Andes are the main reason for the success of viticulture here. It can get quite hot in this part of Argentina. However, the altitude of the Andes, coupled with the associated meltwater, means that the Terres Quero vineyards can cool down considerably, especially at night. This creates a perfect growing climate where Terres Quero's fine grapes thrive.

Anyone strolling through the vineyards of Terres Quero will immediately recognize an Argentine vineyard. The plantings can easily be traced back to this South American country. Besides Chardonnay and Viognier, we encounter two grape varieties that have practically become ambassadors of Argentine wines. We are, of course, talking about Torrontes and Malbec. The latter has achieved near-iconic status among wine connoisseurs worldwide. It's no wonder that Terres Quero Malbec is such a success story.
