For the vineyards of this red wine, we travel to La Mancha. This is one of the most famous wine regions in all of Spain. At an altitude of over 500 meters above sea level, we find the vineyards growing the Tempranillo grape for this red wine. Planted facing the sun, they allow the grapes to absorb as much warmth and sunlight as possible. Because the nighttime temperature drops significantly, these grapes receive a natural cooling effect, ensuring a steady ripening process. Without this cooling effect, the Tempranillo grapes would ripen far too quickly, rendering them unusable. Organic viticulture requires a great deal of work in the vineyards, from soil maintenance to pruning. Once the grapes have reached their optimal ripeness, the manual harvest begins. This takes place at night to prevent premature oxidation and to better protect the skins from any bruising on their way to the winery.

Something inside us told us this would be a wonderfully full-bodied red wine. This hunch was spot on. Nosing the glass, we noted wonderfully rich aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, and light spice. The palate is silky smooth yet full-bodied. A perfect combination of strength and suppleness, with nuances of cherry and berry, along with a nice dose of spice, dominating. The long, full finish ensures a phenomenal ending.
