When you think of Italy, you'll immediately think of the art of enjoyment, which this Southern European country has mastered. This is partly due to the Italian lifestyle. Besides aspects like fashion, art, and culture, the Italian culinary side is incredibly well-developed. And what goes well with good food? Exactly, a good, excellent glass of wine. And the Italians have only one preference: Italian wine.
The Southern Italian wines of Vesevo
Because Italian wine is in abundance: Wherever you go in Italy, the nearest vineyard is always just around the corner. The most famous wine production is found in the north: think of provinces like Piedmont, Veneto, and Tuscany, where quality wines like Barolo, Amarone, and Brunello are produced today. However, a shift is underway. More and more wine drinkers are gaining respect for the wines of southern Italy. Think of Puglia, Basilicata, and Comapagnia. The latter province is home to perhaps one of Italy's most unique vineyards: that of the Vesevo winery.
The Vesevo wine along the Vesuvius
Vesevo is a relatively young winery and part of the powerful Farnese family, which passionately and expertly crafts exquisite, high-quality wines suitable for everyone. It was no coincidence that the Vesuvius volcano was chosen as the location for the Vesevo winery. The name Vesevo was quickly coined. The vineyard is situated on the volcano, with the vines literally planted in the volcanic soil. This is precisely why Vesevo has planted a unique variety of grapes, such as Greco and Falanghina. However, it is the Aglianico that is truly making waves in the Vesuvius vineyards.
The most beautiful wine from Vesevo
The Anglianico is responsible for its great success. The volcanic soil gives this blue grape an indescribable extra bite, making Vesevo Veneventano Aglianico Rosso a true success in our range. However, it is another wine that is most acclaimed: the Vesevo Enis Taurasi Rosso. The Taurasi, with the Aglianico in the lead role, has since become the very best red wine from Campania.
